Oh, the places I've been
Kim and I spent three days enjoying the summer passport. We started with a class at Inspiration Station is Stafford Springs, CT. Then we did some shopping. The next day we spent in Massachusetts at Ink About it where we shopped and spent some time doing $1 Make n Takes. Got 10 of the cutest little cards which I did not photograph. We then went to Absolutely Everything in Topsfield, Massachusetts. What a nice store with helpful staff. The drive home was horrible though.
We took a separate day and went to three stores in Connecticut plus one that wasn't part of the passport in Simsbury, and ended the day back at Inspiration Station for another class.
Here are some photos.
For some reason, blogger won't add my photos. I'll try again later. C Ya!

Baby card
Friends just had their first baby, Olivia Camille. Isn't that the prettiest name!
So, of course we need a card. Despite having two granddaughters and an array of pink paper, nothing really jumped out at me.
Along with BFF, Kim, I went to Absolutely Everything in Topsfield, MA last week. We had so much fun on our day trip. we also hit Ink About It in a neighboring town, where they were holding one dollar Make and Takes. So, we each made ten cute cards.
Back to Olivia's card - bought all the paper at Absolutely Everything. What a nice store and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back. And here it is!

Christmas in July, 2012
I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas in July class at Inspiration Station, Stafford Springs, CT. Donna Sledzik continues to be inspiring, creative and extremely patient as a teacher. I just love her classes. It's probably a good thing that I am thirty five minutes away or I'd have no money left. On the other hand, I would have so many more beautiful objects around the house. Donna held a beach lover's printer's tray class that I was unable to attend. It really called to me and hopefully, she will hold another.
Anyway, we made four beautiful Christmas cards and here are photos. check out the gold splash in the bottom corner of the Santa card. We used Versamark and then sprinkled some gold flaky things and something else (will have to double check on the product) and heated the card the card from underneath. Apparently, if we had heated from the top, all the gold would have blown off. Will definitely have to try this again.

Make and Takes
Went to the Make and Takes at Life's Memories and More. Took my friend Lillian with me. I think she enjoyed it and will probably go back.
Most cards were geared to Fathers Day but since I only have one father, I used Happy Birthday. They will work for many of my male relatives.
And I have a shot of a card that I made at home while playing with my goddaughter Katie, an extremely talented paper crafter who is only 12! This card is made with a coffee snuggy (is that the right word) from Wawa in Virginia. Love Wawa! If you haven't ever visited one - it is a gas station and convenience store and it is clean and friendly and they make hot sandwiches and milk shakes and have the best coffee bar. Yum!
I used some distress paint and threw on some glitter while the paint was wet. Katie showed me the technique, btw. Told you she's a clever paper crafter. And a clever girl!

New cards with shadow stamp
Participated in another class at Inspiration Station in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Here are some photos of the beautiful cards that we made under the tutelage of Donna Sledzik.
So, I cheated a little on my card and tea swap hosted by Fran Kawakami. The optional theme of red and green and flowers was met using this last card. There are flowers although not many; it is red and the stamp is aqua. That is kind of green, right?
Michael and I just returned from a week at Cape Cod so I didn't really have much time to make another card.
I do hope my swap partner in Hawaii enjoys the card. I didn't write in it so she can use it for someone's birthday in the future.

I like the colors on this one. |
We didn't distress this at all! |
Perhaps a better shot? |
