spring, Easter, cards, bunnies, vintage

I am involved in a lovely card swap each month hosted by Fran Kawakami. You can visit her blog, which is wonderful at http://littlepaperstudio.blogspot.com/
Anyway, the colors scheme, which is always optional, is purple and yellow. So, I took one of the vintage cards from last week's class with Donna Sledzik at Inspiration Station in Stafford Springs, CT, and did it up in purple and yellow. However, I am now thinking it is too Easter and will most likely work on another card. I have a week to send it out so will be on time even though it is going to Canada.
My very best friend, Kim, gave me the pieces for a card, also shown here with the little chick. I put it together but stole the ribbon for the card with the bunny. Kim, who is extremely crafty and into all sorts of things, made me this cool wreath. I have it up at work in front of a fake window. I have no window in my office, a source of much upsetness for me. I feel quite claustrophobic every day. The guys in our Weatherization Assistance Program hung this window for me one day to make me feel better. I do work with some very wonderful people.
BTW, Kim's blog is onthefence-kim.blogspot.com

vintage cards

Anyone reading this will fall over. I have not posted to my blog in months and months. Oh, I've tried but blogpost has failed me on several occasions. Funny, I blog for work and it never fails! Anyway, went to a class at Inspiration Station last night. Donna does a monthly card club and last night's cards were beautiful. Plus, we took home a stamp set and a stack of embossed paper. That's like getting half the cost of the class back. You know I'm signing up for next month.

Tornado
It has been a while. First, I am a slacker. And then, we lost internet, phone and cable as a result of the tornado. Just a few days ago we finally got Comcast to come out and reconnect us.
So, here is a cute tag I made for a shower gift. I liked it and Sue, the bride, said that she did too.
I spent a couple of days at Cape Cod for a work conference (how lucky can one get?) so here is a shot of me on Old Silver Beach. The weather was so gorgeous it was hard to stay focused on the workshop speakers.
At some point I have to figure out how to do a better job with photos but that will have to wait for another day.

Easter Tray
Here is the Easter Printer's Tray that I made in a class at Inspiration Station (Stafford Springs, CT). Donna is just so creative and we had so much fun. I took my sister to the class for her birthday. Then we went to lunch. What a wonderful day!
One of my cats got to the chick on the tray so he is looking a bit disheveled. I named the chick Carlos. Go see "Hop' with Russell Brand and Hugh Laurie and Hank Azaria as the voice of Carlos.

Printer's Tray for Richard Gordon
Michael and I (with help from Kim who made the canary in the second box) put together this tray with copies of posters and lobby cards depicting some of Richard Gordon's movies: the Cat and the Canary, Haunted Strangler, Devil Doll and more. We had fun putting it together and Richard said that he was astounded. I am taking that positively.
I took another printer's tray class with Donna at Inspiration Station last week. We put together an Easter Tray. I will try to take a photo soon and post that. It is quite the contrast with this tray.

captured fairy jar
Took a class with BFF Kim. She offered a choice between a water sprite, a meadow fairy and a woodland fairy. Since Kim made me a water sprite for my b-day (I will post a photo later) I chose to make a woodland fairy. My husband wanted to know why an urban fairy wasn't one of the choices so that has me thinking. Smell the smoke?
Anyway, this fairy is in a Marie's salad dressing jar. Talk about recycling!
Here is a photo of a quick and silly card for friend Steve.
